I'm Elana Mundorff, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Practical Homeopath dedicated to helping people gain true mental health and wellness.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brown University, then received my Master of Social Work degree from New York University.
I offer an approach to therapy that is comprehensive and tailored specifically for you, and that focuses on healing both the mind and body. My therapeutic education has primary foundations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy.
In order to delve deeper into the mind-body connection and effectively address the root causes of physical and mental-emotional issues, I pursued extensive training in functional medicine and received my Applied Functional Medicine Coach (AFMC) certification. I also pursued intensive training in Homeopath, receiving certification as a Practical Homeopath (PHom). Because the mind and body are intrinsically connected, we have to heal the body in order to fully heal the mind. Click here to learn more about functional medicine and homeopathy.
The academic in me is continually in pursuit of the most innovative approaches offered. I'm certified in EMDR, a powerful treatment for trauma and entrenched negative self-beliefs. I'm also certified in EvTFT (similar to the more well-known "tapping technique") a cutting-edge therapeutic approach that has widespread applications.
Above all, we will work together to find the path that helps you reach your goals based on your unique needs. Every treatment is completely individualized and takes the whole person into account. As an Usui Reiki Master, I believe that balance is a key element to happiness, and is at the core of all we will do.
